I’ve been anxiously checking my mail box for a couple of days now – since I got the email that my Citrus Lane box is on the way! And today it finally arrived!

Citrus Lane has mentioned on their facebook, blog and homepage that they are making some changes this year. I haven’t been getting boxes for that long to have gotten used to how things used to be, so I figured – no big deal for me. However, there is one change they rolled out that IS a big deal and is just plan awesome – if you refer a friend, and they sign up through your link – you get 10$ off, and THEY get 10$ off!

So if you would like to be a good friend, and let us both mutually benefit from this friendship (and you’ve been waiting to sign up for Citrus Lane) – this is your chance! Please, sign up through this link! (yaay!)

Here is what the grapefruit fairy brought us this month (because grapefruit is my favorite type of citrus!):

-The book is so cute! Already been tested and given the green light by our tough critic.

-Ella’s Kitchen pears – I know they’re good =) When I was pregnant I got a sample from somewhere, it was delicious!

-The toy is fun! Owls are all the rage these days, so thanks for setting my baby on the hipster path =)

And some bath products and laundry detergent that will definitely be put to use.

I think I kind of like the previous boxes more because they had something just for mom – little chocolates, luxurious mini hand lotion, etc. There’s not really much indulgence to getting to do the laundry, you know? =)

Nevertheless, it is so great to get surprises in the mail! And I think it’s an incredible job that they do there – always picking things that everyone can use, regardless of their parenting choices. I was thinking just yesterday how I wished they would send something for nursing mothers, but then – oh wait, not all moms breastfeed… not all parents do cloth diapers, etc etc. It’s tricky! And we all have to complicate things with our “choices”! =)

On a side note, my mom’s been gone a week and I feel burnt out!!!! I’ll have to ask her tomorrow when she’s coming back. And when I think of having a second child – I almost get depressed because – what I’ve got going on now, I have no idea how I can fit that in to my relationship with my existing son when he is a little bit older. Or I guess – I have no idea how a toddler would fit into what I’ve got going on now… I calculated and today I spent at least an hour and a half total in putting him to sleep for naps. Probably did about 6-8 diaper changes… And got to have breakfast at noon. I think I brushed my teeth this morning, but I don’t remember for sure…

We’re slowly starting sleep training because I realized – according to the books I should have been getting a full night’s sleep for several months now, and suddenly these night feedings became a real drag. I guess like with anything – it’s going to get worse before it gets better. So I’m preparing for the worse part. But our sleep training woes will be a separate post ;) For now – let’s just enjoy our Citrus Lane boxes!

I loved this month’s box too, I think I am sold now :) We have been through mild “sleep training” with Alice for a month now, and are happy with the results.

I read just one book on sleep training, also the shortest of all. lol. it’s called 12 hour sleep by 12 weeks. it worked for us on day 2. and she’s been sleeping through the night since like… 2 months old? it’s great, just read all through it. which will only take you about 1.5 hrs. it’s that short!

The time commitment gets much easier as they get older. I only change diapers 3 or 4 times a day, and they practically do it themselves. When you are no longer breastfeeding 6 to 10 hours a day, you will feel like you have the most time in the world. A full night’s rest will do that, too! I can’t believe I’ll have 3 kids 3 and under in 6 months and will be starting over with a newborn. I really think the first 4 months are the hardest physically and emotionally (except for potty-training- that stinks big time).
